"Dear Diary",
today I've again made anything. Or so it would sound to me if I had stayed in Germany (-:. Man, I'm back funny since the last entry but has done many things right: The
Manuel (the boy to share with me a year the room will ) and I are after five days in preparation camp somewhere in the forest, two nights in Bangalore, a night at Ooty (a beautiful city!) and two nights in a hotel in our city Coonoor has finally arrived in our project, though not quite. I would most like to come here directly from the camp, but before that I had in Bangalore to register with the police and ask for a "Residential Permit". A propos: Did I mention really to love the Indian kitsch? As I waited at the police station, a well-uniformed group of police officers standing next to me say-you have, the Indians are just like rum so-when suddenly the phone rang at one. I could not believe it really and hergelacht would almost alone in front of me: The authority figure with a gun on the belt was actually "My Heart Will Go On" as a ringtone! But what the hell, it must also be times (-:?
Then we have the right to indulge ourselves what and for about 11 € / person from Bangalore to Ooty (about 400km or 7 hours) The route took a taxi which super nice because we went through a national park and the scenery is really great here. After a stop at a tourist-"Elephant Camp" where there was to see a baby elephant, a wild boar, several deer and lots of monkeys we are on gorgeous Mountains in the beautiful, 2200m above sea city Ooty arrived. We have all the time by a former volunteer, of his project in Ooty and had been in Germany would have to be done and he was absolutely believe that we need an hour from the target (Coonoor) stay away again in Ooty. At 2200m altitude, the nights are cold and A. .. the windows in our hotel were a real top-construction: they were at the top of the wall where you do not rankommt to close them and they were open! To distract from the cold we have on the laptop of Manuel "Little Miss Sunshine" looked and it was great! A really nice movie! Our two nights in Coonoor and the journey then I skipped again. We have been here for about a week in our project, it is "Sri Sarva Sarguru Samarsa Sangam" and consists of: 1.the
Ashram (so-called Temple Hall, a small shrine & a Temple Room)
2.the "Boys Hostel (56 boys)
3.the" Girls Hostel "(31 girl)
4.the "Sri Sarguru Tribal High School (200 students, almost half of them from our" Hostel ")
5.dem" Sri Agasthieya Industrial Trainig Centre "(Trainingsstaette for adolescents, where the hand skills like the learn repair of cars)
The Ashram serves to "poor people, tribal people, down-trodden, low community and the BC / MBC (Backward & Most Backward Class)" to help, so far at least today's Quote of the alleged Assistant Secretary K. Siva. And as an ashram is a sacred place for the Indians, there is NEVER meat on the menu) -:
The Ashram:
Located on a beautiful mountain where you have an awesome view of the mountain opposite, and the intermediate slope . One could talk at bottom with the people on the other hand if you could scream very very loud (-: In the ravine in front of us there are many beautiful large trees, a crematorium, a small cemetery next to it, many wild animals, a beautiful bridge, railroad tracks, allegedly Buffalo, wild boars (as I did yesterday night, as everybody here - Pee the slope was down, I scared some of them that were too close to our home), free-range cows I've seen too many times, grazing peacefully, and have run times even outside our window over. are free running dogs and cats's anyway, anywhere. That looks sooo great when you get up mornings and the water tanks will be to wash the face and has this wonderful view! The weather is always beautiful, but cold at night will keep. Such things can not get over with photos. It just feels great to be nice to brush your teeth while watching that hang down when the birds are pretty cheesy and forth chirping and flying.
Our Mission:
I only say: There is no good unless you do it! (-: Since staff does not have much experience with volunteers and we grade are anyway in a transition phase (because the two Americans away yet) we do not really much I will therefore more accurate to tell about our work where everything is and ours. team is complete, on 2 and 3 February is going to be a German (Helen shall call it) into our project so that the girls in the home also have one for himself. Then we are with her, Akil and Manuel of four and you can start right (-:
available for the volunteers at three lined up each about 8 square meters large rooms. The room has the right
Akil from Munich (I may temporarily sleep there), the middle serves as a living-dining and other rooms (as Manuel is sleeping) and the Left is part of the couple from the U.S., departing on February 7 and by Manuel and then I want to replace. Then we can finally settle down properly and do not have, as before, live in the suitcases) -:
Otherwise this:
the last days was really sick at times that was really un Sch ... Totally had a cold (because the nights are sometimes cold), had a fever, just felt tired and ko, had body aches and my nose was running all the time like the Ganges during the monsoon season (-:
Had I really soo happy someone wanted from home to take care of anything around me, but the other volunteers here were something of nice and made me doctoring fine. Do me out of the city brought everything doing what I've asked the American woman has given me even made instant noodle because she thought it would warm me and gave me great medicine! HERE Now I actually just fine. I must now say so, otherwise to make my mom unnnötig worry again.
day before yesterday we were five (Manuel, Akil, the two Americans Maurice and Alissa and I) were invited to dinner at our school principal. This is done here so I was told. The lives in a village ca.2h from here secluded in a beautiful real estate of the civilization we might almost say, with his wife and son.
We were at 11 since this morning and got to eat three times to 19h! The previous best here for me really tasty food in India! Super!. What was something funny and made me almost embarrassed was something that the main course in the afternoon only we had "guests" and the son of the director (you perched cross-legged on the floor, the food is served on palm leaves and is eaten with the hands, really cool!) while he just sat aside and waiting for us with rice and continuously Sauce, etc. supplied as soon as he saw that someone with his "plate" was almost finished. His wife was standing at the entrance of the room, looked carefully at how we smacked and gave instructions to her husband and whom to pour what. Kind of funny, but they have eaten when we were done and had we done in the shade at the entrance welcoming. That was really nice out of the apartment rang loud Indian Mucke (totally strange.! There was an Indian song where the refrain in English and was there anything with "Baila baila, Lady Salsa" or so said things) and we played five with the son of the director. We had worried him a plastic cricket bat on the market and so as a small Gift welcome (The people here love funny names for their products was on the bat "Master Blaster", I find so funny). Then I got five games of chess against Maurice, Akil and Krishna, the 12 year-old son of the family played and won all, Strike! (-:
was before yesterday, a historically very important day, namely the "Republic Day" and in our Ashram was a great feast held as back yesterday evening from our Essenstag the Director were hung everywhere lights and. dark lit our house really nice in red and orange, we are already at 6.30 yesterday then h on, because we basically co-host, and sometimes as many important people were expected. Slowly, then many gentlemen and ladies came in their colorful costumes, it was thought much and long speeches (no idea what, all in Tamil), loud music gabs also have only danced briefly some old ladies and little girls and eating of course, was also together. Four really super nice volunteers from the neighboring town of Ooty were also visiting. The Swede among them, studied photography and makes real hammer pictures! As soon as I have of him which, I ask them clean. Large Indian word of honor!
Yesterday afternoon we were familiar with an Indian family Akil and with whom he is very good friends now, invited to tea. The couple lives with the two super-ultra-mega-hammer-cute daughters (9 and 12) and another girl (I think 15) that is a friend of the family in a small apartment in the very near us. They sleep five to a bed - which served us as seating in a small room, showing a storage room and a corridor, which is a hotplate, the whole apartment. The family is really super rich and the couple has for the apartment around the clock to the owner of the home (which also has a tennis court) are available and serve. The man took for him as the balls on tennis, among others. As you can see again how close and yet so far here are rich and poor in India. Akil the family has already closed her heart and to me they also make a great impression. Are really very nice people and the two daughters are simply divine, so lively, sincere, loving and totally cute! Have I fully remember my two nieces Super I after 17 days pretty dolle miss) -:
And now for the first time I washed the clothes properly. Nice with the hands and a bucket of water ... and of course: "Soap: The standard measure of civilization" (quote from Fight Club, hihi)
has really been fun because it was really something and maybe a small performance it refers. But who knows how long it will be even more so (-:.
showered I incidentally also the so are the real things that move the world
If you want to have my address can write me through postcards! 'm looking me (-:
A cell phone number I've been too, but I have no power and must now time to shop and ask what is going on wishes all a good day and until the day greetings,
Ismat .
